Ausschreibung für eine Stelle als studentische Hilfskraft (SHK, m/w/d; 20h/Monat, 18 Monate) im QSL-Projekt „Critical Anthropology Lab. Ein brasilianisch-deutscher Lernraum für ethnografische Experimente“ am Institut für Ethnologie der Goethe Universität Frankfurt.

Für das Projekt „Critical Anthropology Lab. Ein brasilianisch-deutscher Lernraum für ethnografische Experimente“ ist für 18 Monate ab dem nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt eine Stelle als studentische Hilfskraft für 20 Stunden/Monat zur Unterstützung des Austauschprojektes zu besetzen. Das Projekt kreiert einen transnationalen Lernraum für experimentelle, kollaborative und angewandte Zugänge zur Anthropologie im 21. Jahrhundert. Studierende und Lehrende der Universidade Federal de São Carlos und der GU erproben gemeinsam ethnographische Methoden, kritische Theorien und dekoloniale Perspektiven. Momentan ist geplant, dass Studierende der Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCAR) im Rahmen des Seminars „Kollaborative Ethnografie mit dem Fliegenden Künstler:innenzimmer“ im Frankfurter Bahnhofsviertel (WS 2026/27) nach Frankfurt kommen. Im darauffolgenden Semester werden Studierende aus Frankfurt die Möglichkeit haben, in Brasilien an einem Lehrprojekt teilzunehmen. Das Projekt wird von Simone Pfeifer gemeinsam mit Catarina Moravska Vianna von der UFSCAR durchgeführt.

Aufgabenbereiche:

• Unterstützung der (digitalen) Lehre
• Unterstützung bei der Organisation und Betreuung der Lehrenden/Studierenden aus Brasilien in Frankfurt
• Unterstützung bei der Dokumentation und Evaluation des Programms.  
• Unterstützung bei der Arbeit am Antrag zur nachhaltigen Verankerung des Projektes.

Voraussetzung:

• Eingeschrieben als MA- oder fortgeschrittene* BA-Student*in im Fach Ethnologie/Sozial-und Kulturantrhopologie oder angrenzenden Fachgebieten,
• Por­tu­gie­sischkenntnisse,
• Interesse an der Teilnahme am Austauschprojekt.

Erwünscht sind Interesse und Aufgeschlossenheit für ethnografische und experimentelle Lehr- und Forschungsformate auch mit außeruniversitären Forschungspartner*innen. Zudem sind ausreichend gute Englischkenntnisse erwünscht, da die Lehre auf Englisch stattfinden wird.

Durch Ihre Mitarbeit erhalten Sie Einblick in das Projekt „Critical Anthropology,“ den geplanten neuen MA-Studiengang „Critical Anthropology“ (ab WS 2027/28) und das neu zu entwickelnde Lehrformat des „Critical Anthropology Labs.“

Call for Application: Student Assistant Position (SHK, m/f/d; 20 hours/month, 18 months) in the QSL project “Critical Anthropology Lab: A Brazilian-German Learning Space for Ethnographic Experiments”
at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology, Goethe University Frankfurt

For the project “Critical Anthropology Lab: A Brazilian-German Learning Space for Ethnographic Experiments,” a student assistant position (20 hours/month) is available for 18 months, starting at the earliest possible date, to support the project. The project creates a transnational learning space for experimental, collaborative, and engaged approaches to anthropology in the 21st century. Students and faculty from the Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCAR) and Goethe University Frankfurt jointly explore ethnographic methods, critical theories, and decolonial perspectives.

Currently, students from the Universidade Federal de São Carlos are expected to come to Frankfurt as part of the seminar “Collaborative Ethnography with the Flying Artists’ Room” in the Bahnhofsviertel (winter semester 2026/27). In the semester thereafter, students from Frankfurt will have the opportunity to participate in a teaching project in Brazil. The project is led by Simone Pfeifer together with Catarina Moravska Vianna (UFSCAR).

Responsibilities:

• Support for (digital) teaching
• Assistance in organising and hosting faculty/students from Brazil in Frankfurt
• Support in documentation and evaluation of the program
• Assistance in preparing an application for the long-term institutionalisation of the project

Requirements:

• Enrolled MA student or advanced BA student in social and cultural anthropology or related fields
• Knowledge of Portuguese
• Interest in participating in the exchange project as a student

An interest in and openness to ethnographic and experimental teaching and research formats, including collaboration with non-academic partners, is desirable. Good English skills are also required, as teaching will take place in English.

Through this position, you will gain insight into the Critical Anthropology project, the planned MA program Critical Anthropology (starting planned for winter semester 2027/28), and the development of the Critical Anthropology Lab teaching format.
