Start Date  
Internships in Germany are between 3 months and 6 months long. You must be available for the entire internship duration.  

You can apply for one of three seasonal intakes: Spring, Summer or Autumn. Each intake offers a flexible start date within the timeframes listed below and the internship end date can be outside the timeframe. 

  • Spring Intake Start Dates: January 1 – April 30, 2026  
  • Summer Intake Start Dates: May 1 – July 31, 2026  
  • Autumn Intake Start Dates: August 1 – December 31, 2026

About the DWS Internship

About the Team 

The Client Coverage Division (CCD) is responsible for the global distribution of DWS' entire product range and for serving customers and distribution partners. Customers and distribution partners include credit institutions, investment companies, family offices, insurance companies, pension funds and investment funds, as well as public institutions and bodies (e.g. federal or state governments) and non-profit organizations, such as churches and foundations.  
 

The following CCD teams are looking for interns:

  • Xtrackers Sales Germany & Austria 
  • Xtrackers Sales Advisory & Strategy Team 

 

Client Coverage Division Germany Wholesale & EMEA-X Institutional 

The Client Coverage Division in Germany provides asset management solutions based on the individual risk, return and liquidity preferences of the client. To provide the best service for our clients, the division is structured along the following 3 core segments:   

  • Institutional Clients  
  • Wholesale Clients   
  • Alternatives Solutions  

We offer all sorts of investment products and tailor-made solutions for our clients stemming from the active, passive, alternative or solutions platform. We advise approx. 300 existing institutional clients as well as many wholesale clients in the German and Austrian market. For servicing those clients in the most comprehensive way, we have a strong working relationship with Wealth & Commercial Clients, Corporate Clients and Distributors.   
 

As our intern, you will: 

  • Prepare material for prospective/current client pitches as well as create product and strategy presentations (e.g. AuM, Revenues, Growth Forecasts)  
  • Support with client projects, like pricing analysis and RfPs (Request for Proposal) along the whole process 
  • Work closely with different departments and teams within DWS to obtain necessary information, updates and solutions to clients’ requests 
  • Participate in internal product trainings and client conference calls and meetings   
  • Analyze our competitors’ offerings and prepare gap analysis 

 

CCD Global COO Office 

The Client Coverage Global COO office is responsible for global sales management, business development issues across all regions and the division's workforce management organization. We also coordinate the Client Coverage Division's main customer relationships and partnerships. and support the divisional leadership in formulating and executing the strategic agenda. Moreover, the segments of Product Marketing as well as Transformation & Venture Clienting are part of the Global COO Office. 

On a daily basis, we deal with diverse aspects of managing a global sales organization and align between various hierarchical levels of the organization, including top management. Our team focuses on the successful implementation of strategic initiatives through all levels of the Client Coverage Division globally.  

 
As our intern you will: 

  • Analyze, prepare and evaluate relevant data and key figures for managing sales organization 
  • Work closely with all Divisions and DWS sales regions, esp. Product, Investment and Finance 
  • Prepare recommendations for action, decision templates and further inputs for top management-level decision-makers and relevant committees (divisional leadership meetings, board meetings, etc.) 
  • Carry out analyses and special ad-hoc tasks on a wide range of topics, with a focus on transformation and change processes to further develop the Client Coverage Division 
  • Participate in projects on business-related topics in sales, esp. organization-wide initiatives / projects 

For Product Marketing: 

  • Create and update multiple Formats as Client Presentations, 2Pager, Fund in Focus websites 
  • Work in close collaboration with sales, product specialists and agencies to produce materials for dedicated target audiences 

For Transformation & Venture Clienting: 

  • Identify, evaluate, and establish partnerships with key players in the financial and technology sector (incl. FinTech/WealthTech). Collaborate with existing sales partners to enhance relationships technically 
  • Develop and execute robust digital strategies & projects and identify growth areas, technological trends, and innovative solutions to drive business impact 

Xtrackers Sales Germany & Austria 

The Xtrackers Sales Germany & Austria Team is responsible for distributing one of Europe’s leading ETF and ETC platforms to clients across Germany and Austria. Furthermore the team is tailoring specific solutions to institutional clients often invested via Passive Mandates. We engage with a diverse range of investors, including asset managers, banks, family offices, insurers, pensions and digital platforms. 

As a key growth area within DWS, our focus lies in expanding market reach, strengthening client relationships, and delivering efficient, transparent, and innovative passive investment solutions. Close collaboration with internal teams such as Product, Investment, and Marketing ensures we stay aligned with client needs and market trends. 

As our intern, you will: 

  • Assist in preparing sales presentations and customized client materials. 
  • Analyze ETF flows and product performance to support client conversations and internal reporting 
  • Work closely with different departments and teams within DWS to obtain necessary information, updates and solutions to clients’ requests 
  • Participate in client conference calls, meetings, events and roadshows as well as in internal product trainings 
  • Contribute to ongoing projects by conducting research and presenting findings to the team 
     

Xtrackers Sales Advisory & Strategy Team  

The Xtrackers Sales Advisory & Strategy Team within the DWS Xtrackers Sales area is responsible for the strategic direction of the Xtrackers sales business globally, which includes Xtrackers ETFs/ETCs as well as Xtrackers Mandates. The team plays a central role and works closely with various DWS stakeholders (e.g. Product Division, Investment Division and Communication & Marketing). Xtrackers is a growth area within DWS and our goal is to continuously participate in the strong growth of the passive investment market to further increase our market share.  
 

As our intern you will:   

  • Dive into the global ETF/passive investment market through competitor analysis and market positioning. 
  • Help develop our state-of-the art flow analysis tool to shape future sales strategies and corresponding content  
  • Contribute to strategic sales projects, including project implementation (e.g. focus campaigns) and presentations 
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders across product, investment, marketing, and communications teams. 
  • Support client-focused sales efforts and develop key databases for institutional investing
